Job Summary
This position’s responsibilities include managing work study student functions and schedules to support effective and efficient library operations, ensuring professional library functioning in accordance with library policies and procedures, and performing cataloguing services for the Ridgewater College Library while the librarian is away.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Online cataloging of new materials
- Provides library services when the librarian is not available.
Qualifications
Library Technician Job in United States
In order to assist patrons in discovering resources and performing research, one or more working knowledge of the library’s classification system(s) and common library reference tools is required.
capacity for:
Create tracking for new print and non-print library acquisitions by using precise coding or cataloguing systems, and find and replace outdated materials.
Use personal computers, a variety of software programmes, web-based tools, and other office equipment to operate in order to find catalogue information, create documents using word processing software, fill out forms, and create reports.
- Catalog books using MARC Record format on OCLC and an Integrated Library System.
- Use and explain the OPAC and its subsystems.
