About the Role

The Senior Data Officer plays a crucial role on the Social Mobility & Widening Participation’s What Works research and assessment team. In an effort to promote evidence-based reform that enhances the achievements of underrepresented students, our team tests what is effective in increasing widening participation and student success.

Those who are interested in social mobility and who want to put their talents and knowledge in data analysis to use have an intriguing opportunity. You have the chance to improve your ability to demonstrate influence in a situation related to higher education.

An indefinite contract will be made available for this position.
Although this is a full-time position, those looking for a flexible schedule within our necessary service operation hours of 10am–4pm are invited to apply.

Currently, this position allows for both on-campus and remote work. The position will be based at our department’s campus in Waterloo.

  • To increase participation in higher education and assure the achievement of every student, conduct analysis and data visualisation on performance against targets.
  • Create understandable presentations, blogs, and reports on your findings by analysing important institutional statistics and identifying pertinent trends and patterns. – To evaluate team work and choose the focus for future initiatives, complete advanced statistical analysis (such as power calculations and regression analysis).
  • Learn about a variety of internal and comparative data sources, and evaluate the constraints of various data sets.

  3. Knowledge of the statistical package R and how to clean and quality assure R code would be a particular advantage.
