Description

International Federation for Human Rights

An international NGO dedicated to human rights is called FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights). As stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we have dedicated ourselves to defending all civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights since 1922.

We are a federation of 188 human rights groups, both national and regional, that operate in 116 nations. We think that local actors have the primary responsibility for transforming society. Our efforts are intended to increase their ability to influence and take action.

The International Secretariat of the FIDH is a human-sized organisation with a dedicated global staff of 20 workers spread throughout many foreign offices (Belgium, Geneva, The Hague, Bangkok) and 49 employees in France.

The European Parliament, the Council, the Commission, and other related entities are all addressed by the FIDH office in Brussels on behalf of FIDH, as do the delegations of its member states. It makes sure that FIDH and its member organisations’ initiatives are visible to the European Union, advises methods to strengthen EU action, and offers advocacy techniques to effectively engage the EU on human rights in the globe.

Under the guidance of the Communications Director, the Head of Campaigns works in the Communications Department to plan communications initiatives related to the current events covered by the thematic and geographic desks of the Operations and Advocacy Departments. Additionally, he or she oversees two, three, or more yearly FIDH campaigns.
