Job Description
- Comply with local and state rules governing the operation of school buses as well as the reporting of incidents and accidents.
- Transport students in accordance with the management’s specified routes and timing needs; as adjustments are required, recommend them and work with management to coordinate them.
- Keep records, and send in reports as needed.
- Perform the necessary pre- and post-trip bus inspections and cleanings. Keep children in conformity with district policies in terms of order, discipline, and safe behaviour.
- Refuel buses as needed, put on and take off chains, and check fluid levels.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions deemed essential by the District to carry out role duties.
- As required, fill out the driver’s trouble report to include bus mechanical issues, damage, and maintenance needs.
- As allocated by the Transportation and/or Operations Manager, carry out further connected tasks and take on additional associated obligations (s).
