Summary
An experienced HSE Manager is needed to join our expanding team at Boccard. The HSE Manager is in charge of establishing a culture of nuclear safety and aiding management in meeting all legal and corporate standards for health, safety, and the environment, including routine inspections and audits.
Working closely with the HR Manager and Senior Managers across the UK, you will report to the Managing Director. The position is headquartered in our brand-new, entirely digital nuclear production facility in Broughton, Wales, and requires travel to other UK locations.
Principle Responsibilities
· Establish a robust nuclear safety culture throughout all UK operations.
• Direct and coordinate impartial safety reviews.
• In charge of ensuring that all health and safety documents, policies, and procedures are created, kept current, and communicated.
• Take part in the creation of safety, health, and environmental management systems and aggressively spread these concepts to ensure that a uniform strategy is used across the organization.
• Taking the lead in designing internal training materials and facilitating health and safety training for all managers and staff.
With the assistance of the business management team, facilitate new starter training and maintain training records. Create and put into practice training standards and expectations.
• Uphold and keep an eye on the H&S legal register.
• Conduct internal audits and frequent site safety inspections to ensure that health and safety policies and ISO 45001 regulations are being followed.
• Participate in safety forums and meetings with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
• Carrying out risk analyses, including COSHH analyses, and making sure the results are shared with the appropriate parties.
• To investigate events, accidents, complaints, and cases of work-related illness, and to make sure that the findings and suggestions are shared with the appropriate parties.
• Ensure that all scheduled appointments for health surveillance are completed.
• Providing advice on a variety of specialized subjects, such as workplace illnesses, noise regulations, dangerous chemicals, and fire regulations.
Skills and Experience
• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
• Experience in a multi-site business
• Experience in a Health & Safety Role in the Nuclear Industry
• ISO14001/ ISO45001 Internal Auditor
• Experience of Safe Contractor and/or UVDB Verify standards
• Experience of liaising with client representatives
• Excellent communication skills
