Description
To better defend the vital transit infrastructure that supports our nation’s capital, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is developing a cutting-edge cybersecurity programme. As the lead transit Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and liaison for the transit software development community, the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for the Office of Cybersecurity, Risk Management Directorate, Application Security organization, reports to the Cybersecurity Transit Applications Program Lead role. This position is part of a group of cybersecurity specialists tasked with developing and implementing cybersecurity solutions to close critical security control gaps at the enterprise and information system levels, as well as working with service owners and partners to navigate the intersection of cutting-edge application security and IT demands/schedules. The ISSM will get assistance from the Cybersecurity Transit Applications Program Lead in addressing any cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance issues that Metro tools, technology, or processes are unable to handle at the moment. The NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), and Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) are among the frameworks that successful candidates will be expected to lead, manage, facilitate, design, and implement. They will also be expected to mentor more junior ISSOs in the application of these frameworks. The programme lead for cybersecurity transit applications is responsible for identifying and documenting information system security needs, as well as for creating and managing security documentation to support risk management tasks like security authorization and ongoing monitoring. The right applicants will be familiar with object-oriented programming languages, along with the related frameworks and architectures.

Six years of experience as a cybersecurity officer/engineer, information systems security officer, or specialized expertise in cyber policy, intelligence, analytics, budget, audit or training such that it meets the specific role posted.
