The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent U.S. Federal agency responsible for investigating significant accidents in the various modes of transportation-aviation, railroad, highway, marine, and pipeline. The NTSB determines the probable cause of each accident investigated and issues safety recommendations to prevent future accidents.

Qualifications

  • Sufficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to evaluate, interpret, and create financial information, records, and reports; spot errors; and suggest fixes for procedural or other financial issues.
  • The ability to search and produce records and reports for management use, identify and reconcile errors or discrepancies, and possess appropriate knowledge of governmental accounting systems (or analogous).
  • To be able to lead other staff and give them guidance in gathering data and methods, reconciliation issues, refund calculations, receivable repairs and modifications, and asset protection for university funds.
  • Good information-gathering and customer service abilities are necessary to ensure that responses are accurate, prompt, and accompanied by the proper follow-up.
  • Good arithmetic abilities are required to balance cash transactions, do computations, reconcile data on time, identify discrepancies, and calculate third party awards in a timely manner. in a timely fashion
  • Sufficient knowledge of word processing to write business letters of a professional calibre.
  • The ability to track and monitor student accounts, student data, collects data, and report creation using spreadsheet software.
